Together with die raumplaner In:polis will introduce a sound concept to continue the shopping street management for Potsdam’s historic city center and for Babelsberg after 2013. Since 2009 a shopping street management exists for the regional capital’s inner city and for Babelsberg. The program is funded by Brandenburg’s Ministry of Infrastructure and Agriculture and will phase out by 2013. The new concept for its continuation will be based on the acquisition of new partners. The aim is to privately finance the shopping street management, whereby the regional capital Potsdam will remain as a partner.

A strengthened retail centrality with the existing mix of stores, gastronomy and events can be a boost for the whole urban development. The shopping street management will contribute to make the historic quarters more attractive to citizens as well as to tourists.
