The panel discussion on the question „What Strategy for Nord-Neukölln” took place as a starting point for a possible dialogue about local city development in Berlin’s district Neukölln. Together with zuhause e. V. and Vollgut GmbH, in:polis organised the event in August 2011.
Point of departure was the spatial bundling of different measures of city development in the north of Neukölln. The inner-city part of the district is not only an extensive area of neighbourhood management but also rates as a zone for urban redevelopment (since 2011). These two measures are complemented by the following proposal of the political party Bündnis 90/Die Grünen: within the framework of a social-ecological IBA 2020 (International Building Exhibition 2020), the party suggests to position the north of Neukölln as a model neighbourhood.
In:projectis took charge of some organisational preparations (e. g. participant regristration and management). In addition to the discussion, keynote presentations regarding the following projects were also an integral part of the event:
[Aktion! Karl-Marx-Straße], zuhause e. V. and Vollgut GmbH,
KreativNetzNeuKölln as well as
NEMONA. Moreover, panelist Franziska Eichstädt-Bohlig presented the IBA-project mentioned above.
