Valentin Schipfer graduated in Development Studies at the University of Vienna. He wrote his diploma thesis on socio-spatial segregation in Rio de Janeiro. In line with his second degree in Geography with focus on urbanism he proposed a place branding for a working-class-neighborhood in his application-oriented master’s thesis.

A cooperative project between youth hostels and local schools formed one of its main ideas: Within a guided tour by students the tourists should be introduced into the district’s hardly communicated Jewish past.

His main points of interests vary from urbanism with focus on place branding and innovative network-approaches among urban dwellers to architecture and landscape planning.
